Diy Rooftop Tent Hoist. I have a simple idea for a cheap hoist and store system, but i need to have a rough idea of what the maximum and minimum heights are from the top of a rooftent on a vehicle to the underside of your joists. As an added bonus, once you remove the tent from your vehicle, you can leave it cradled securely in the hoist. At this point the tent is still on it�s side. Guys, just a little help please with an idea for hoisting and storing a rooftent. After a lot of brainstorming and about 3 trips to lowes, below is my working hoist. The rooftop hoist will also lift most brands of canopies. A simple rope pulley system will do the trick, but i cannot seem to find decent pulleys. Where can i purchase pulleys capable of handiling the 30kg tent load.
